What is Resilient Recovery?

One of the primary functions of Resilient Recovery Ministries is to help churches establish support groups. Click below to hear about Anna’s experiences with a mixed-issue, women’s Resilient group.

Church-based Recovery Groups

We’ve been continuously meeting every Saturday for over 8 years. We now have an online group and an in-person group.

There are also Resilient Groups in Wisconsin and Utah.

Rehabs

We offer Resilient Recovery Groups in Rehabs. Our director and volunteers meet weekly with residents and share the power of honesty and God’s forgiveness with those in recovery.

You can learn more about our free six-week program here.

Mozambique (East Africa)

We’ve traveled to Maputo, Mozambique and met with pastors, medical students, and ordinary people to discuss the impact of drugs and alcohol in the capital city of Maputo.

We were able to translate the Resilient workbook into Portuguese — the local language— and train 3 pastors in Resilient.

We recently sent an additional 100 copies to these pastors.

Recovery Retreats

We all benefit from a chance to relax and recharge. Business leaders, educators, academics, and soccer moms all know the joy of a special conference or training. But the opportunity to get away from the daily grind and be inspired can be financially out of reach for many in recovery.

We hold a 50 person recovery retreat that ministers to addicts and pastors from around the country. Through ticket sales and donations we are able to make a quality retreat affordable to those on the tightest budget.

Resilient Coaching

Are you a pastor or lay leader who wants to provide real help to those with addictions and mental illness?

Through our Resilient Coaching classes, you can learn how to listen in a way that

  • Increases motivation to quit

  • Improves willingness to seek treatment

In only a few months, we’ve trained 50 people in these evidence-based practices.

Thought leaders.

Addiction is complex issue. Information about addiction is often false, misleading, or out of date.

With 3 and half years of graduate education in the social sciences, participation in academic research, and over 20 years of experience in field of mental health and addiction, Jason Jonker is qualified to provide sound advice and suggestions.

Our emails, blogs, social media posts, videos, and trainings are biblical and provide evidence-informed guidance.

A Grandmother’s plea: Stop the cycle of alcoholism in this family!

In the months before she passed away, Mike's grandmother begged him to stop drinking.

She wanted him to get sober and join the praise team at Church.

Shortly after she passed, Mike received a DUI and a possession charge.

He'd tried other ways to quit, but God's grace and Resilient were what finally helped him get sober.

Two years later he is still sober--and he is playing guitar and violin in the praise band!

Many recovery meetings ask you to keep Jesus under a bushel. In RESILIENT RECOVERY, Jesus is front and center. And God uses the gospel--not our works--to transform lives..png

“It’s all about God’s grace. You can try to do it on your own. But you need his Grace to get healed.”
